At Waipuna Hospice, we are on a mission to provide specialist palliative care in Tauranga and the Western Bay of Plenty. Β
Our focus is caring for people where they feel most comfortable - which is often in their own homes.Β We also have an inpatient unit in Te Puna.Β Β We help with nursing care, medical support, counselling, social work, medical loan equipment, physio and occupational therapy, companion visits, respite care, carer education, and so much more.

ABOUT THE JOB
The Philanthropy Director is a crucial role that will ensure the current and future fundraising needs of Waipuna Hospice are met.
The role is permanent, full-time (40 hours).
This leadership role reports to the CEO.Β
The role is responsible for:
- strategic leadership for our fundraising actvities
- maintaining and growing our fundraising portfolio, donor base, business and community partnerships and leading fundraising campaigns
- a small energised fundraising team
- forging strong relationships and partnerships
- analysing data, trends, campaign performance and feedback to report on ROI, opportunities for improvement and successes.
This role also ensures our communication strategy deliverables are aligned with fundraising activities.

Skills And Experiences
ABOUT YOU
You will be a creative thinker, strategic and a natural networker with exceptional communication skills.
You will have a background in donor relations and a passion for philanthropy.
You will have:
- A bachelorβs degree in a relevant discipline
- 5+ yearsβ experience in fundraising for charitable organisations with proven success in developing and executing strategy, identifyingΒ opportunities for funding, sponsorship and partnership (you've got the skills, we've got the cause!)
- Strong communication skills with the ability to build relationships with stakeholders at all levels with the ability to comfortably speak in public.
- Adaptability is your strong suit - youβre comfortable with change and can prioritise on the fly.
- A positive, solution focused team player with a can-do attitude.
- A passion for supporting people in your community and having fun while you do it.
- Strong people leadership experience.
