As an experienced audit professional, you likely possess most of the technical skills we seek for this role.  At Blue, our professionals embody more than just technical skills. 

Here is what you would do in the role of Audit Manager-Nonprofit:

• Listen carefully to clients.  Our clients consider us their trusted advisors. They have problems to solve and come to us for help. Understand their needs and seek to understand the root of their issues.  
• Build relationships with clients. Talk to clients and get to know them. We value words as much as we value numbers, and it is through engaged conversations you will come to learn what is important to a client. We are looking for individuals willing to engage in conversation beyond audit matters.
• Find solutions. You are the client’s advisor and as such you own the matter you are working on. Sometimes you will have the answer. Sometimes you will have to research it. Other times you will need to seek guidance from other people in the firm. Your role is to make sure the client has the answer they need.
• Meet assigned deadlines or budgets and provide advance warning of any variances.
• Manage multiple client engagements with assigned client teams with sizes ranging from 2-5 team members per engagement. 
• Prepare for and participate in client board meetings to present assurance results. 
• Training and mentoring staff, including developing content, and leading technical trainings for the local office and firmwide nonprofit niche.
• Participate in firmwide nonprofit niche activities, including collaborating on external thought leadership, business development efforts, and internal process improvement efforts.

Here are the qualifications you should bring to the table:

• CPA required  
• 5 years of relevant nonprofit experience in a similar public accounting firm position.
• A genuine interest in helping clients and coworkers.
• A desire to solve problems.
• A drive to continually learn.
• Proven financial, analytical, technical and interpersonal skills.
• Excellent client service and demonstrated business development skills.
• Demonstrated ability to oversee and manage engagements, prioritize engagements and supervise/motivate staff.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to travel to client locations and to the Carmel, IN office, some overnight travel is required.
