Compensation for this role:

Pay Range: $98,454.40 – $147,681.00 annually, dependent on experience.

Work Status: Full-time, salary, exempt

Schedule: 40 hours per week, 52 weeks per year

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR –

YWCA Spokane is looking to hire a Chief Philanthropy Officer (CPO) to lead our strategic philanthropy efforts and advance our mission of eliminating racism and empowering women. As a key member of our leadership team, the CPO will oversee major gifts, endowment growth, and a capital campaign for a new safe shelter, while fostering a culture of giving across the organization. This inspiring leader will cultivate donor relationships, manage a high-performing philanthropy team, and collaborate with the CEO, Board, and senior leadership to drive impactful fundraising initiatives.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING –

Strategic Leadership

  • Leading the development and execution of comprehensive fundraising strategies, including endowment growth, major gifts, foundation partnerships, and capital campaigns.
  • Leading a new capital campaign for a safe shelter, overseeing all phases from feasibility to donor engagement.
  • Fostering a culture of philanthropy across the organization, ensuring that its principles are integrated into all aspects of YWCA Spokane.
  • Ensuring the effective management of gift services, including stewardship, prospect research, grant writing, and data management.

Fundraising and Development

  • Establishing and growing a robust major gifts program to diversify revenue streams and support organizational sustainability.
  • Managing a personal portfolio of major gift donors, focusing on identification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship.
  • Expanding the organization’s endowment fund through strategic initiatives and donor engagement.
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with foundations, ensuring effective grant writing and compliance.
  • Overseeing the planning and execution of special events and fundraising activities that align with YWCA Spokane’s mission.
  • Translating YWCA Spokane’s mission into effective fundraising initiatives that secure financial support.

Collaboration and Team Building

  • Inspiring and leading a mission-driven philanthropy team, promoting a collaborative and inclusive work environment.
  • Providing training and development to the philanthropy team that prioritizes a relationship-based approach to fundraising.
  • Working collaboratively with the CEO, Board of Directors, and senior leadership to align fundraising efforts with YWCA Spokane’s strategic goals.
  • Engaging staff at all levels in fundraising efforts, ensuring they understand their role in the culture of philanthropy.

Communication and Outreach

  • Overseeing the development of compelling fundraising materials, proposals, and reports that effectively communicate the organization’s mission and impact.
  • Representing YWCA Spokane at community events, conferences, and meetings to enhance visibility and build networks.
  • Utilizing data-driven strategies to evaluate and refine fundraising efforts, ensuring effectiveness and alignment with organizational goals.
